Houston....we have a problem. A SERIOUS problem. America has grown angry. Partisan politics combined with an ever increasing invasive and persuasive media is ripping our country apart. What happened to brotherhood? What happened to living in a country founded on the idea of being tolerable to the opinions and belief systems of others? What have we done to ourselves? Well it would seem to me that somewhere along the way we got lazy. We let politicians get away with all sorts of shenanigans. We let people with power and money effect our way of thinking. We let the media start making decisions for us.
Now on to more distressing issues....partisanship. How many people actually have committed themselves to a political party solely because of the environment they were raised in, in other words, mommy and daddy were liberal or conservative, soyou naturally assume the same political belief? it's pretty muchthe standard. Although it's not uncommon for offspring to deviate from their parents' political views. Partisan politics is getting so completely out of hand I don't see how anyone, could really claim to be proud to be a member of either party this day in age. But they do. And I'll tell you why. IGNORANCE.
People do not understand for the most part what they are placing belief in . I've seen message board after message board after message board full of useless diatribe that just goes back and forth forever about who's party is better. I got news for these people. This is merely my opinion and my own generalized figures....90% of them are absolutely clueless on what their party stands for, what their party views are and what the politicians who are affiliated with these parties are actually all about. I will tell you what they DO know. The Average Joe knows what the media tells him. Average Joe knows the commercials and ads, Average Joe knows political jargon. Average Joe knows what others want him to think. In conclusion , Average Joe doesn't know jack. I'm not by any means trying to insult the American public at large, but by far the American public is truly ignorant to the facts, some by their own device and largely due in part to media influence and propaganda. I bet you 60-70 % of people who claim to be active in following politics today are clueless to what propaganda is. Let me fill you in.
Propaganda is designed to fool you into believing what someone else wants you to believe in order for them to make a personal gain at your expense. Still talking over your head? I can break it down a little bit simpler for you: Neil pays News Network A to air negative ads about his opponent, Bob in the upcoming election. Average Joe watches these ads and believes in these ads, because Average Joe figures its on TV, they wouldn't air it if it weren't true. In retaliation, Bob pays another Network B to air the same type of negative ads against Neil. In the end one of these boneheads gets elected into office because Average Joe was so busy paying attention to the negative ads, he doesn't really know for sure where either politician stands on the important issues. Average Joe doesn't really have a clue who the best candidate for the job is. And we all pay for it. We get lame duck politicians, and the issues never get dealt with in a reasonable manner or frame of time. This ladies n gents, is why we end up with what we call lame duck congresses or lame duck presidents. We get a president of one political affiliation up against a congress whose majority is of another political affiliation and nothing gets accomplished. We pay these people with our hard earned tax dollars to royally screw up our country by wasting time arguing amongst themselves rather than deal with the issues, and why?
PARTISAN POLITICS
These idiot politicians are far more concerned with their party affiliation, their jobs and their bank accounts than they are with the people they are elected to represent. Not to say there aren't a handful of politicians who actually do their jobs because there are, but a handful can't overpower a majority.
I'll leave you all today simply with this: I am NOT a liberal, a leftist, democrat, a conservative, a neo con, republican, or any other ridiculous names that come up in the political junky circuit. I'm an American. And a damned angry one at that. Next time you vote, don't vote based on party affiliation. Vote based on the issues, voted on what best for your country. You don't live here by yourself, we all live here together, your vote affects me and mine affects you because it determines what idiots we're going to put into office and run our country. And for you forum posters out there who chase each other around with your witty criticism.....The insanity must stop. You people are fighting each other to the point of hatred and you forget that you are Americans on both sides of the political war field. You forget you are not competitors in a fierce battle. You forget you are in fact brethren living in the same free country. By all means express yourself but for Pete's sake stop inciting a riot over each other's opinions and beliefs. You'd make much better use of your time bouncing ideas and opinion off of each other in order to obtain a better working knowledge of what really is going on. Step up from Average Joe to Educated Joe. http://www.youdecide2008.com
